Exercise Physiologist in the comfort of a small group class

Exercise Physiology Groups

Our Exercise Physiology Group Exercise Sessions have been designed to ensure you can exercise safely and efficiently under the supervised care of an Inspire Exercise Physiologist in the comfort of a small group class.

These popular group classes allow you to have a tailored exercise program designed to your unique biomechanical and medical needs: whilst also being fully supervised and supported by our Accredited Exercise Physiologists.

Accredited Exercise Physiologists are university trained health professionals that work with you to treat, manage, and/or prevent a whole range of different conditions. For example, we can work with people who have Diabetes (Type 1 or Type 2), Cardiovascular Disease, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Neurological and/or Mental Health conditions.

Inspire Exercise Physiologists take a biopsychosocial approach to our treatment, meaning we look holistically at each individual person and their unique circumstances to achieve the best possible outcome.

Each group session runs for 60 minutes and is restricted to a maximum of four people. This is so we can maintain a high level of supervised care and support as you start “and continue!” on your exercise journey.

Within your group EP session, you might be programmed exercises that involve:

  • Strength Training
  • Balance
  • Mobility
  • Cardiovascular Fitness

What are the Benefits of our Exercise Physiology Group Sessions?

  • Your program is tailored specifically to you and your goals.
  • Open to all abilities and fitness levels!
  • Exercise in a fun, safe, and social environment
  • A great way to transition from one-on-one sessions but still have the support of our Exercise Physiologists!

What to Expect

1. Initial Assessment

We first conduct an Initial 1-on-1 Assessment to better understand your medical history, current health status, injury profile, exercise, and lifestyle goals. We also complete relevant physical assessment tests so we can understand your current physical capacity (and so you can monitor your improvements!).

2. Personalised Exercise Plan

Based on this detailed background and assessment our specialised team of Exercise Physiologists will design a tailored exercise plan to work towards your health goals and objectives.

3. Small Group Class

Join our small group class! During your first group session we guide you through your individualised exercise program, so you understand the ins and outs of it!

4. Ongoing Support

We supervise each of your groups and provide a motivating and supportive environment to help you achieve your goals. Our team of Exercise Physiologists are available to answer any questions and ensure you complete your exercises safely and efficiently!

5. Regular Reviews

As part of this service, you will have reviews with your exercise physiologist every 6-8 weeks, where your exercise program will be evaluated and updated where appropriate.
